Secretary Gregory Domingo

Secretary Greg Domingo leads the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry and a member of the Economic Team of the President of the Philippines. Prior to joining government, he was President of Carmel Ray - JCTI Corporation and Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank for almost a decade. He also worked for other financial institutions in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York from 1982 to 1989 including First Boston, Drexel Burnham Lambert & Mellon Bank. He has served as Director in various Boards of corporations engaged in sugar production, banking, real estate, leisure, power and investments.

He holds an MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Asian Institute of Management with Distinction, and Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University.

He is a member of Wharton Club-Penn Club Foreign Exchange Association of the Philippines and Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP).

Senator Ramon B. Magsaysay, Jr.
Republic of the Philippines

Senator Ramon B. Magsaysay, Jr. inherited his great sense of compassion for the common tao from his revered parents, the late President Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay of Zambales and Mrs. Luz Banzon-Magsaysay of Bataan.

As a senator, he has pushed the crusade for an honest, efficient, responsive and open government.

In the Senate, he chaired the Committees on Agriculture and Food, National Defense and Security, Banks, Financial Institutions and Currencies, Science and Technology, Economic Affairs, Tourism and Cooperatives.

He sponsored the passage of the Electronic Commerce Act (RA 8792) - the law provides for the legal recognition, admissibility and evidential weight of electronic data messages and electronic documents.

The law mandates all government departments, bureaus, offices, agencies, entities and instrumentalities as well as GOCCs to use and accept electronic data messages, electronic documents and signatures in their transactions. The E-Commerce law is the progenitor of the very first Automated Election Law in the Philippines.

Senator Magsaysay holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from De La Salle University. He is a Licensed Mechanical Engineer. He took post-graduate studies in Harvard Business School and New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. He was awarded a Doctor of Public Administration, Honoris Causa, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Central Luzon State University.

Undersecretary Zenaida Cuison Maglaya
Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group
Department of Trade and Industry

Ms. Zenaida Cuison Maglaya has been a staunch advocate of consumer welfare, initiating effective programs and projects that aim to empower and protect consumers. Beyond this, she has been given several opportunities to hold various functions in the Department because of her constant display of perseverance, effectiveness and leadership.

She is the Undersecretary for Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group (CWBRG), supervising six (6) bureaus responsible for consumer protection, product standards, accreditation, supply chain management, and, construction industry development and licensing. As supervising head, she spearheaded the setting up of DTI Direct – the Department’s quick response mechanism for Pinoy entrepreneurs and consumers; and the DTI Bagwis Awards that gives due recognition to establishments that uphold fair and honest business practices and supports the rights of consumers. She supported the integration of fair trade and consumer laws in the curricula of secondary and alternative learning education. She concurrently heads the Management Services Group (MSG).

She alternates for the Secretary as the lead convenor in the Philippine Development Forum (PDF) Working Group on Growth and Investment Climate contributing to the banner programs of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC), which are the Business Processing and Licensing System (BPLS) and the Philippine Business Registry (PBR). These programs aim at simplifying business requirement processing for start-ups and foster transparency in transactions with the end goal of reducing cost of doing business and improving the country’s competitiveness. She represents the DTI in the boards of the Philippine Ports Authority, National Housing Authority, Home Development Mutual Fund, and, the Government Procurement Policy Board to name some.

Ms. Maglaya is the Department’s anchor in the DTI-ABSCBN consumer advocacy program, “Konsyumer Atbp” (KATBP), together with DZMM’s Mr. Alvin Elchico. The KATBP is simultaneously aired on Saturdays in DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 kHz and in DZMM Teleradyo Skycable channel 26 from 10:30 in the morning to 12:00 noon. The KATBP, on its seventh year, has been awarded the 2008 Catholic Mass Media Awards’ (CMMA) Best Education Program for Radio and the 2009 and 2010 Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters (KBP) Golden Dove Awards’ Best Public Service Program for Radio. In 2011, Ms. Maglaya obtained the 2011 KBP Golden Dove’s Best Public Service Personality for Radio.

She started her career in government in 1974 as a MASICAP Scholar under the then Ministry of Industry, where she was assigned in Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas assisting small and medium entrepreneurs put up their businesses. In 1987, she became the Director of the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion servicing the marketing needs of SMEs. As Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations, she was appointed the Project Manager for One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) Project in 2002. Undersecretary Maglaya was conferred the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the highest category of the Civil Service Commission’s Honor Awards Program in 2007. (June 2012)

Mench is with the Ayala Malls for six years, in-charge of launching and marketing the company’s new malls like TriNoma, MarQuee Mall in Angeles and Harbor Point in Subic. She is also in-charge of marketing all other Ayala Malls under development.

Currently, she heads the digital marketing and spearheaded projects that have brought Ayala Malls at the forefront of digital. She launches Ayala Malls 360, a comprehensive digital campaign that allows customers to get information across various platforms – online, mobile, social and on-ground. This also includes www.A-Deals.com, Ayala Malls’ e-commerce program that primarily aims to serve as a drive-to-mall strategy.

She completed the Certified Digital Marketing Program of E-Learning Edge last 2011 and currently, on the Board of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP).

She was a scholar at the Ateneo de Manila University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, minor in Philosophy. She is passionate about travel and distance running. She hopes to do the Cebu Ironman this year.

Currently specializing in performance-based marketing, encompassing email and mobile marketing, performance analytics, search engine optimization (SEO) and eCommerce at Movent.

Previous experience includes developing and managing SMS, MMS and WAP services, as well as other mobile value added services and content for a local telecommunications player. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree major in European Studies from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Justin Garrido

Justin is the co-founder of SocialProject.PH, a crowd funding website for social projects in the Philippines as a means to address poverty and other social and environmental challenges in the country. Justin moved to the Philippines after completing his MBA from Melbourne Business School and the Asian Institute of Management so he could pursue his passion for social entrepreneurship. Prior to his MBA, he worked several years as a Director with Aldi Foods in the US. Aside from his interest in social entrepreneurship, he also enjoys outdoor activities, exploring food destinations, and traveling the world to experience different cultures. He holds an MBA degree from Education University of Melbourne, Melbourne Business School and Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
