Secretary Greg Domingo leads the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry and a member of the Economic Team of the President of the Philippines. Prior to joining government, he was President of Carmel Ray - JCTI Corporation and Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank for almost a decade. He also worked for other financial institutions in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York from 1982 to 1989 including First Boston, Drexel Burnham Lambert & Mellon Bank. He has served as Director in various Boards of corporations engaged in sugar production, banking, real estate, leisure, power and investments.
He holds an MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Asian Institute of Management with Distinction, and Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University.
He is a member of Wharton Club-Penn Club Foreign Exchange Association of the Philippines and Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP).
Ms. Zenaida Cuison Maglaya has been a staunch advocate of consumer welfare, initiating effective programs and projects that aim to empower and protect consumers. Beyond this, she has been given several opportunities to hold various functions in the Department because of her constant display of perseverance, effectiveness and leadership.
She is the Undersecretary for Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group (CWBRG), supervising six (6) bureaus responsible for consumer protection, product standards, accreditation, supply chain management, and, construction industry development and licensing. As supervising head, she spearheaded the setting up of DTI Direct – the Department’s quick response mechanism for Pinoy entrepreneurs and consumers; and the DTI Bagwis Awards that gives due recognition to establishments that uphold fair and honest business practices and supports the rights of consumers. She supported the integration of fair trade and consumer laws in the curricula of secondary and alternative learning education. She concurrently heads the Management Services Group (MSG).
She alternates for the Secretary as the lead convenor in the Philippine Development Forum (PDF) Working Group on Growth and Investment Climate contributing to the banner programs of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC), which are the Business Processing and Licensing System (BPLS) and the Philippine Business Registry (PBR). These programs aim at simplifying business requirement processing for start-ups and foster transparency in transactions with the end goal of reducing cost of doing business and improving the country’s competitiveness. She represents the DTI in the boards of the Philippine Ports Authority, National Housing Authority, Home Development Mutual Fund, and, the Government Procurement Policy Board to name some.
Ms. Maglaya is the Department’s anchor in the DTI-ABSCBN consumer advocacy program, “Konsyumer Atbp” (KATBP), together with DZMM’s Mr. Alvin Elchico. The KATBP is simultaneously aired on Saturdays in DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 kHz and in DZMM Teleradyo Skycable channel 26 from 10:30 in the morning to 12:00 noon. The KATBP, on its seventh year, has been awarded the 2008 Catholic Mass Media Awards’ (CMMA) Best Education Program for Radio and the 2009 and 2010 Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters (KBP) Golden Dove Awards’ Best Public Service Program for Radio. In 2011, Ms. Maglaya obtained the 2011 KBP Golden Dove’s Best Public Service Personality for Radio.
She started her career in government in 1974 as a MASICAP Scholar under the then Ministry of Industry, where she was assigned in Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas assisting small and medium entrepreneurs put up their businesses. In 1987, she became the Director of the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion servicing the marketing needs of SMEs. As Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations, she was appointed the Project Manager for One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) Project in 2002. Undersecretary Maglaya was conferred the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the highest category of the Civil Service Commission’s Honor Awards Program in 2007. (June 2012)
Joseph is the Founder and CEO of AsiaPay since 2000. He spearheaded the formulation and execution of business strategy to meet the business targets. He managed the day-to-day operations of the company and was accountable to its P/L during its start-up operations. Prior to AsiaPay, he worked with Dah Sing Bank, Bank of America and Citibank leading a team handling the operations and projects involving credit cards, electronic banking, and retail banking. Theresita has five (5) years experience in Information Technology as Head of Corporate IT Department, managing teams responsible for project management, systems development, data center operations and network and facilities management. She has seven (7) years of experience in Information Technology as Senior Manager, managing team responsible for systems design and development, software evaluation, selection and implementation. She also has over seventeen (17) years of experience as project officer and lead systems analyst for varied computer applications in Philippine government, particularly, for the Bureau of Customs and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
